I’m thrilled to share that Sunil Potti is joining Wing Venture Capital as a Venture Partner.
I’ve known Sunil for over a decade, and for just as long, I’ve been looking for ways for us to work together. Many of our best conversations have happened on long walks — sometimes about startups, sometimes about the future of infrastructure and security, and often about how great products get built. For years, I’ve tried to pull him into Wing companies or find a way to collaborate, and when Sunil started thinking about his next chapter after an incredible run at Google Cloud, the timing finally aligned.
Sunil is, at his core, a real product guy. He has that rare combination of imagination and groundedness — the ability to see where technology is headed, and the discipline to build products that customers truly love. He’s lived the journey from feature → product → platform → company many times over: leading Google Cloud’s Security business, helping scale Nutanix from an early disruptor into a category leader, and earlier, building key products at Citrix, F5, and Cisco.
What’s always stood out to me about Sunil is his deep customer sensibility and builder’s mindset. He doesn’t just think about what’s technically possible; he intuits where the real value lies, and how to make it usable and impactful. Over the past six months, we’ve been collaborating more closely, and it’s only reinforced what I’ve always known: he’s thoughtful, balanced, imaginative, and deeply connected across the ecosystem.
At Wing, Sunil will focus on the areas he knows best — infrastructure, application enablement, and security — helping founders turn powerful ideas into enduring platforms and companies. He’s the kind of partner who sees around corners, but also knows what it takes to get from zero to one and beyond.
I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Sunil to Wing. This has been a long time coming, and I can’t wait for what we’ll build together.
